SCHOOL OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES (SPGS)

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), inaddition to the Dean, has three Sub-Deans in charge of the three major Programmes it runs. These include:

  • Sub-Dean for the Ph.D Programmes;
  • Sub-Dean for the M.Tech Programmes; and
  • Sub-Dean for the PGD Programmes.
  • Below is the brief profile of each of the Sub-Deans.

    SUBDEAN, DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D): DR (MRS) CATHERINE MAYOWA IKUMAPAYI

    Engr. Dr. (Mrs) C.M Ikumapayi is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Structural Engineering option) at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. She is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering Practice in Nigeria as well as the Nigerian Society of Engineers. She is also a member of Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria. She is an excellent scholar and she has to her credit, publications in reputable National and International Journals. Her research area is in Green pozzolanic materials, Corrosion inhibiting admixtures, Sustainable building and construction materials, Durability of civil engineering materials. She has won different grants. She is the present Sub Dean School of Post Graduate Study, Federal University of Technology, Akure.

    SUB-DEAN, POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD): AYEDUN, TAIWO AKINYEMI (PhD)

    Dr. Ayedun Taiwo Akinyemi, current Sub-Dean of the Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PGD) of the School of Post Graduate School, The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, Nigeria. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Entrepreneurship, School of Logistics and Innovation Technology, FUTA. He joined the service of the University on 23rd May 2012 as Assistant Lecturer after he had spent over a decade in the Banking Industry where he rose to the position of Assistant Manager.

    He had his Doctoral Degree (PhD Entrepreneurship) on 23rd April 2018 from Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State from the Department of Business Administration and Marketing; Masters of Philosophy (M. Phil. Entrepreneurship) on 5th June 2016 from Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State from the Department of Business Administration and Marketing; Master of Science (M. Sc. Business & Management) from University of Portsmouth, the United Kingdom on 6th March 2012; Masters of Business Administration (MBA) on 6th February 2008 from University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State and his First Degree (B. Agric) in Agricultural Economics and Farm Management on 9th April 1997 from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State (Now Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye). He is also a member of professional bodies such as; the Association of Entrepreneurship Scholars; Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) Chattered; International Institute for Policy Review and Development Strategies (IIPRDS)

    Dr Ayedun has published over twenty-five (25) Scholarly Articles in both offshore and onshore reputable Journals and attended fifteen (15) academic conferences locally and internationally. He is one of the research teams that won a research grant in 2019 from the TETFund National Research Fund. He is equally involved in the peer review of Academic Journals such as the Journal of Nigerian Inquiry in the Humanities (NIITH) and the Journal of Management for the School of Logistics and Innovation Technology. He has successfully co-supervised one (1) PhD student and One (1) master’ student. He has four (4) PhD students and two (2) Masters’ students under his supervision as Co-Supervisor. He teaches at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. He has served and still serving in the capacity of Chairman and member of various committees at the University, School and Departmental levels such as Chairman, FUTASU Electoral Committee; Hall Warden, Adeniyi Hall; Welfare Officer FUTAASCOOPS, Member, FUTA Sports Council; Representative on Board of Studies (School of Environmental Technology)
